Among the things that have changed in Sandy 1.2 versus Sandy 1.1 (the latest stable version) is the Camera3D class.

The camera is an important part of your Sandy world, because it represents the viewer. Without it, you wouldn't see your carefully crafted 3D objects. It is essential to know that the camera is part of the world, not some ghostly gadget peeking into the world from outer space.

First let's review Sandy's coordinate system:

Sandy uses a left-handed coordinate system. This means that you can visualize it by holding the thumb, index, and middle fingers of your left hand at right angles to one another. The X axis is your thumb, the Y axis your index finger, and the Z axis is your middle finger. The positive X direction is to the right, the positive Y direction is up, and the positive Z direction is straight ahead.

This page hosts latest snapshot of ongoing Sandy haXe port effort by Niel Drummond and Pedro Moraes. Check back often :)

Why haxe?

There are some good reasons why you might want to use haXe, they are coincisely described on the haXe website intro page. Amongst other features, haXe enables a single language to manage client and server interaction. Flashsandy-hx overcomes the need to use wrapper extern files, and provides a native implementation.

Navigate with keyword directional keys.

The clipping features allows a perfect display on the viewport. No more triangle disapearing when we are too close!

Plus, pressing SPACE bar, you'll see a tesselation be applied to the triangles of the wall (which is a cylinder).

This alows to reduce the distortion when polygon is intersecting the viewport extremities.
